Community Relations is a key component to my every day job as a first year principal. I often feel like I am running for office at school or community events. I very much enjoy meeting people in our district, addressing concerns as they arise, and praising our staff and students publically every chance I get. Below are a few examples of ways we have worked to "brand" our school. The social media explosion has given principals many new ways to get the word out about the great work our teachers and students are doing. But in our neck of the woods there is a small but dedicated population that still loves to cut out newspaper articles. I dabbled in Twitter during my MSUM coursework and with a little more practice would like to further champion our school's causes via the ever expanding social media.
