As I eluded to in my Action Plan on Poverty (below) one doesn't necessarily think of Diversity Leadership when speaking about the small rural Northern Minnesota district in which I work. But I have come to realize we have our share of students with significant needs financially, emotionally, academically, and socially. I work diligently to foster a positive working climate for staff and learning environment for our students. We go above and beyond 504 plans and IEPs to meet our students where they are and help them build the skills necessary to close any achievement gaps that may exist.
