L. Judgment and Problem Analysis
1. Identify the elements of a problem situation by analyzing relevant information, framing issues, identifying possible causes and refraining possible solutions;

Judgment and Problem Analysis could be the sub-title on a principal's business card. Analyzing and framing issues, making timely decisions, prioritizing situations as they arise, and collaborating with other leaders in the school to solve problems is what makes this career choice so challenging and rewarding. No day is the same. I can walk into my office each morning with the best intentions to follow a schedule or plan and then the phone rings, or a parent walks in, or a student is sent out of class and my plans change. This is one of those competencies of which you could demonstrate some understanding through coursework but where nothing can substitute for actual on-the-job experience.
